Laurus Florentiae: Mascarade Opera’s new voices open the season
Florence, 6 October 2026 – Mascarade Opera and The New Generation Foundation open the new season with “Laurus Florentiae”, an evening introducing Mascarade Opera’s new Emerging Artists, selected through international auditions.
The concert takes place on Thursday 8 October at 7 pm at Palazzo Corsini al Prato, Via Il Prato 56, Florence. Doors open at 6 pm.
Hailing from China, New Zealand, South Korea, Canada, the United States and Spain, the young artists will perform some of the best-loved works from the operatic repertoire, introducing themselves to Florentine audiences as they begin their journey with Mascarade Opera.
Following the concert, the artists will receive the Laurus Florentiae award, represented by silver pins crafted by the historic Florentine silversmith Pampaloni, the evening’s sponsor. The award marks their entry into the Mascarade Opera Emerging Artists Programme, which supports the launch of international operatic careers.
The evening opens a season that reaffirms Mascarade Opera and The New Generation Foundation’s commitment to supporting young talent and giving audiences opportunities to discover the next generation of performers.
