Dr. Ralph Strehle is the Director of Mascarade Opera. As Director of Mascarade Opera in Florence, Dr Ralph Strehle is committed to redefining artist development for the 21st century. He leads a forward-thinking artist development ecosystem encompassing the Mascarade Opera Stage Network (MOSN), Mascarade Opera Agency Associates (MOAA), the OperaMetrics analytics platform, and the Global Frontiers recruitment initiative.

Ralph’s approach integrates data-driven training models with strategic career pathways, empowering young opera singers not only to master their craft, but to navigate a rapidly evolving global industry with autonomy and resilience.

With a background in opera coaching, educational innovation, and institutional leadership, Ralph holds two doctorates: one in music, focused on performance psychology and motivation, and another in English in the field of ethics and philosophy. He is recognised as a leading expert in performance psychology for singers and has worked as Associate Head of Vocal Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

His international coaching work includes guest engagements at the National Opera Studio, the Norwegian Academy of Music, Hamburg International Opera Studio, Akademia Operowa, the New Generation Festival, and the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation. Ralph also serves as a resident resilience coach at prestigious international singing competitions such as CLIP, the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition, and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World.
