Jonathan Santagada

Italian conductor and pianist Jonathan Santagada has worked with many of the most prestigious Italian and international musical institutions.
This season he has conducted the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin for a new recording of Tosca and has supervised the musical production of Gianni Schicchi, il film, Damiano Michieletto’s first film, which was presented at the Turin Film Festival and on RAI 1.
His future engagements for the summer of 2022 include 4 productions at the Arena di Verona assisting Maestro Marco Amiliato.
In past seasons he has conducted at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London, Opera North in Leeds, Welsh National Opera in Cardiff, I Pomeriggi Musicali orchestra in Milan, Teatro Regio orchestra in Turin, Theater Basel, The New Generation Festival in Florence, and the Southbank Sinfonia orchestra in London.
He also was the assistant of Maestro Maurizio Benini at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam.
He assisted Maestro Marco Amiliato at the Salzburg Festival and Maestro Nicola Luisotti at the Opéra National de Paris and at La Monnaie in Brussels.
He has also worked on over 25 productions at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, often collaborating with the musical director Sir Antonio Pappano. Jonathan completed his music studies at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Giuseppe Verdi in Turin and the Conservatoire Supérieur de musique et danse in Lyon.
He has also taught at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Centre National d'Artistes Liriques in Marseille.
