Floriana Cicìo
Soprano
2020/21 - 2022/23 - 2023/24

Floriana Cicìo was a Young Artist for the inaugural class at the Mascarade Opera Studio during the 2020-2021 season. In 2021, she made her debut as Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Teatro Eleonora Duse in Bologna and performed the same role in 2022 at the Teatro Comunale di Carpi. During the 2019-2020 season, she sang Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Teatro Comunale di Modena; in 2019, she also debuted the roles of Ocsana / La Zarina in the world premiere of La notte di Natale by A. Cara for Opera Giocosa di Savona and also the Teatro Pavarotti di Modena. She graduated from the DAMS faculty in Palermo with the highest marks in 2020. Floriana joined Mascarade Opera as an associate artist in September 2022.

William Desbiens
Baritone
2021/22 - 2022/23 - 2023/24

French-Canadian baritone William Desbiens graduated from the Mannes School of Music in New York. His roles have included Conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Dandini in La Cenerentola and Silvio in Pagliacci. In 2020 and 2021 he was awarded an encouragement award at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. In 2022, he performed in the finals of the Paris Opéra Compétition. He was a 2021-2022 Studio Artist at the Mascarade Opera Studio. In June 2022, William performed the role of Grigory Stepanovich Smirnov in the studio's chamber production of William Walton’s The Bear. He also played the role of Wagner in Opéra de Québec’s production of Faust in July 2022. William is currently singing the roles of Pantalone and Farfarello in The Love for Three Oranges at Theater Heidelberg. William is an emerging artist at Mascarade Opera.

Aebh Kelly
Mezzosoprano
2021/22 - 2022/23 - 2023/24

Irish mezzo-soprano Aebh Kelly is a graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she studied with Virginia Kerr and Dearbhla Collins. Aebh was selected to compete in the final round of the 2019 Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition. During the 2020-2021 season, Aebh joined the Irish National Opera’s ABL Aviation Opera Studio where she became the youngest ever studio member. She was a Studio Artist at the Mascarade Opera Studio 2021-2022. In June 2022, Aebh gave her debut as Madame Popova in the studio’s chamber production of William Walton’s The Bear. She was awarded the second prize at the 2022 Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition. In the coming season she can be seen as Olga in Theater Heidelberg’s production of Eugene Onegin. Aebh joined Mascarade Opera as an emerging artist in September 2022.
