Mascarade Opera will headline the opening concert of Amiata Music on Friday 25 July with the Amiata Opera Gala at the Fondazione Bertelli Forum
Conducted by Nicholas Chalmers, the evening will feature the Sinfonia Smith Square Orchestra alongside alumni and current artists from Mascarade Opera, taking audiences on a journey through some of the most beloved masterpieces of the Italian operatic tradition. The concert features Mascarade alumni Floriana Cicio, soprano (2020/21, 2022/24), Garrett Evers, tenor (2024/25), and Charles Buttigieg, baritone (2024/26), alongside current Talent Pathway artist Cláudia Pereira, mezzo-soprano (2025/27).
Spanning more than a century of operatic history, the programme ranges from Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini to Puccini, presenting a selection of celebrated arias and ensembles that showcase the evolution of Italian opera and the enduring appeal of its repertoire.
