Mascarade Opera Renews Partnership with the International Portofino Opera Competition (CLIP)

Mascarade Opera is proud to renew its partnership with the International Portofino Opera Competition (CLIP), one of the world's most prestigious competitions dedicated to emerging opera singers.

Now in its twelfth edition, CLIP will take place from 21 to 26 July 2026 in the stunning settings of Portofino and Camogli. This year's competition received more than 300 applications from 57 countries, from which 48 outstanding young artists have been selected to compete before an exceptional jury chaired by Dominique Meyer and comprising artistic directors and casting professionals from some of the world's leading opera houses.

The partnership with CLIP reflects a shared commitment to supporting the next generation of opera talent by providing meaningful opportunities for artistic and professional development. As part of this collaboration, Mascarade Opera will closely follow the young singers taking part in the competition, identifying the most promising artists for potential participation in its prestigious training programme.

Over the years, this collaboration has helped launch the careers of numerous emerging performers, reinforcing CLIP's reputation as an international benchmark for discovering outstanding new operatic voices, while confirming Mascarade Opera's role as a leading institution dedicated to nurturing and guiding exceptional young artists towards successful professional careers.

We wish all competitors every success in this year's edition of CLIP and are delighted to continue a partnership that remains firmly committed to investing in the future of opera.
